SURAT: Slapping his wife resulted in death for a resident of Vadpada village in Uchhal taluka of Tapi district in south Gujarat on Friday. The wife's return attack with a stick on husband resulted in his death on the spot. Ironically, the tussle started between the two over cooking of food. The incident created tremors in tribal region of Tapi.
Moja Gamit, 45 and his wife Relvi, 42, were having dinner on Friday when the tussle started. Argument between them started as Gamit blamed Relvi for not cooking good food. Gamit slapped her following heated argument. On being slapped agitated Relvi took a stick lying nearby and hit Gamit on his head.
Just with one hit Gamit suffered severe injury and he collapsed on floor. Family members called for ambulance and during examination by paramedics it was found that Gamit was dead. On being informed police booked Relvi for murder of Gamit and arrested her.
Police sent Gamit's body for post mortem and collected evidences from the residence. The couple worked as farm labour. Bhangabhai, Gamit's father lodged the complaint against her daughter in law. Police are investigating the case. Police will register statements of family members and neighbours to find out more details about the relationship between the couple.
