MUMBAI: A woman (24) has lodged a case against her boyfriend after he failed to turn up at the Thane marriage registration office on Thursday. The woman, a private firm employee, was in relationship with the accused, Yogesh Chaturvedi (29), who worked with her in the same company since the past two years.
The couple had reportedly planned a civil wedding on February 13. But Chaturvedi, a Bhayander resident, did not turn up at the office and his cellphone remained unreachable.
The victim, a Kashimira resident, after waiting till evening, returned home. The next day, unable to reach Chaturvedi, she lodged the complaint. Chaturvedi has been booked for rape as the victim said he had a sexual relationship with her after promising her marriage.
